Fantastic News!!

4Ways Dojo, (an affiliate of ISMAA under the auspices of Shihan Arnold De Beer - Chief Instructor) went through two years of selections for the World Goju Ryu Championship that was hosted in New Zealand, Auckland, 27th to 29th November 2015.  After the final selection in May 2015, Stef Biagioni, Silvio Biagioni, Emma Wentzel, Zoe Duffield, Isabella Kraus, Taboka Velempini and Maximilian Ulrichschofer were selected in their respective divisions.

This tournament was of an extremely high standard with some of the world’s best Continental, European and World champions. There were 25 Countries, including South Africa, Romania, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Russia, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and Japan  to mention a few of top participating countries.

4Ways dojo received a fantastic result totaling 6 Silver Medals and 4 Bronze Medals.  In 2010 with the 1st World Goju Ryu Championship in Portugal, Stef Biagioni got a 3rd Place, Bronze medal, losing in the Semi-finals against Portugal with Italy winning the finals. In 2013 the 2nd World Goju Ryu Championship in South Africa, Stef Biagioni won Gold and was hoping to achieve a back to back World championship title but unfortunately losing in the final to Czech Republic and getting Silver.  Silvio managed to do better from the last World Championship and got Silver for the under 21’s and Silver for the Open Senior division. Stef and Silvio Biagioni with Marius Madgwick clenched a Bronze medal in the Team Kata losing to Austria who eventually won the division.

Well-done to the Junior Female Team Kata:  Zoe Duffield, Isabella Kraus and Taboka Velempini for their first time in a final losing to Czech Republic and getting Silver.  A special congratulations goes to Max Ulrichschofer who got Bronze for his first international!  Emma Wentzel also clenched a Bronze medal for Female Team Kumite losing narrowly to Germany.
